Hello! I'm an Asheville transplant, originally from Northern Virginia, and have lived all over the east coast from Virginia Beach, to Philadelphia to NJ. I began my teaching career in Philadelphia and relocated to Asheville in 2016 with my husband. I'm a Hokie, so I'm happy to be closer to my alma mater for football games. My husband and I love traveling and are avid sports fans (visiting every MLB stadium is on our bucket list. We've been to15 so far!).

My philosophy for learning is focused on guiding each child to his/her highest potential. My goals and approach to education are ground in setting high expectations for every student, showing respect for all students and expecting respect in return, and last – but certainly not least – parental involvement. It is my belief that when parents and teachers work together a student can accomplish anything.

One of my jobs as a teacher is to help your child discover his or her individuality and work alongside with them to maximize it. I believe in hands-on experiences, learning creatively, and learning though application. It is my goal to create a community of learners who are committed to working hard and having fun. I want students to leave my classroom feeling confident that they can apply what they’ve learned in school to real-life situations. I hope that they feel challenged and they have an enhanced passion for learning.

I am thrilled to be a part of your child’s education and I look forward to working with both you and your child this year!
