Frequently Asked Questions

1. What are the preschool hours?
      ACR Preschool follows the Buncombe County Schools Schedule.  We are closed when BCS are closed, including all holidays and snow days, and teacher work days.  We are open from 7:15AM to 4:00PM daily.
2. How much does it cost?
     We offer two payment options.  Parents may choose to pay $414 September thur June, OR $460 September thru May.  There is  a non-refundable annual $50 registration fee.  Tuition payments must be made monthly and is due on Monday or the first day of each month.  A late fee of $25 will be added after the 5th of the month, the second occurrence of late payment will be a $50 fee. 
3. What do the children eat for lunch?
      Breakfast, lunch and an afternoon snack are provided daily by the ACR High School Cafeteria and are included in your tuition fees.  A menu will be sent home monthly.  You may also send your child's lunch each day.
4. Who are the interns who will be working with my child?
      ACR students who are enrolled in Early Childhood Education I or II will spend one class period of their school day working in the preschool.  These students are screened as employees of ACR Preschool based on the NC Division of Child Development and Early Education requirements; including criminal background checks and physician-signed health exams.  In addition, student-interns must have at least two teacher references on file and receive ongoing instruction through their Early Childhood Education coursework.
5. How do I enroll my child?
      Our center is based on a first-come, first-serve policy.  A waiting list is maintained when necessary.  Children must be at least 3 years of age and fully potty trained.  We enroll for full-time only.  If you wish your child to come part-time, you must still pay the full tuition cost.  If you would like to schedule a visit to our center, you may contact the program coordinator, Anita King  (828) 298-2543
