I graduated from A. C. Reynolds High School in 1984, and after I graduated from
Mars Hill College with an English degree and from
Baylor University
with my Master's in English, I started teaching Senior English at ACR
during the 1993-94 school year. As a classroom teacher I taught Advanced
Placement English Literature & Composition, English IV, English III
Honors, and Ethic Studies.
Before the start of the 2007-08
school year, I transferred to the Media Center and have been working as a
Media Coordinator since then. In May 2011, I earned my Master's in
Library Science from
East Carolina University.
My
job in the Media Center suits me well. Working with staff and students
is rewarding; some of my favorite parts of the job are helping patrons
find information that they can use and helping readers find books that
they will enjoy reading.
My wife teaches Social Studies in a neighboring high school, my daughter attends a local high school, and my son attends NC State University. I enjoy spending
time with my
family, reading, soccer, woodworking, Appalachian Studies,
and puttering about the house. I was elected as the A. C. Reynolds High
School Teacher of the Year for the 2017 school year.
