McCullough, Melissa (Social Studies)

Welcome to my classroom!

This fall I will be teaching Civics and Economics.  AP Human Geography will be offered in the spring semester along with Civics and Economics.  I am entering my 21st year of teaching and sixth year here at AC Reynolds.  Prior to moving to North Carolina in 2007, I taught in Michigan for seven years.
I graduated from Grand Valley State University (in Michigan) earning my B.S. degree in Social Studies Education and a Masters degree in Secondary Education History. Currently, I am working on my doctorate degree in Education Leadership from the University of the Cumberlands.
My husband and I reside in the AC Reynolds community with our two children.  Our daughter is a graduate of AC Reynolds high school and is in college and our son is currently enrolled at AC Reynolds High School.  Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my family experiencing Asheville's food, music and hiking scenes as well as participating and watching sports of all kinds, especially those my children are playing.  This summer our family embarked on weekly hikes seeing the beautiful mountains of Western North Carolina! To find out more about me, watch this introduction welcome video.
