Due to the weather the National Night Out has been postponed until; October 7th, 2025

Our Wolverines welcome or new SRO, Officer Holden. We are very excited she is joining our team.
Officer Holden has worked in law enforcement for 7 years. 4.5 years of those were served as a School Resource Officer at a middle school and DARE instructor for 5th grade. She truly believes being an SRO is the best job in law enforcement!
When not working, Officer Holden enjoys spending time with her 3 children -ages 16, 6 and 3. She especially enjoys hiking, working out, and reading. Her favorite book series is The Stormlight Archive by Brandon Sanderson, she often talks in music lyrics, and she's an unofficial coffee connoisseur.

A huge Wolverine welcome to our new Art teacher Erin Seickel. We are very excited to have you as part of our team.
Hello Wolverines!! I have been teaching elementary art since 2009, and have been at Bell & Barnardsville since 2019. This year will be the first that I get to work with the fabulous artists at Woodfin as well! I have a BFA in Film and an MA in Art education from the University of Central Florida and love learning new art skills (pottery!), reading, gardening, and exploring outside! I have a 13 year old son, a 10 year old son, and an almost 4 year old little girl. My husband is a landscape architect in Asheville, and we love hiking, traveling, and camping with our kids and our dogs Kona and Chubbs.

Another big Wolverine welcome back to Mrs. Valerie Stiles. Many of you know here already from a different role in the building last year. We are excited to have her on our team in 4th grade. Find out more about Mrs. Stiles below.
Hi, I’m Valerie Stiles. Some of you may know me from Oasis last year. I'm super excited to be teaching 4th grade this year. I have been in the classroom since 2006 fresh out of high school. I have taught as an assistant and special education teacher at all levels. I graduated Mars Hill university in 2010 with my degree in Education, my masters in 2015 from Western Carolina University and my post masters in Administration in May 2025. I’m super excited to teach 4th grade and so blessed to be back as a Wolverine. I was born and raised in Burnsville NC and live there with my family now. We have a large farm. I am married to the love of my life Daniel and we have 4 children. We both serve as fire fighters and I am also an advance medic. I am a very outgoing person on the move all the time. I’m very excited for a great year in 4th grade and can’t wait to see and meet you all.

We want to give a huge Wolverine Welcome to our newest 2nd grade teacher. Mrs. Hannah Keever will be joining our team. Welcome back home to the Erwin district and to Woodfin.
Hello! My name is Hannah Keever, and I am thrilled to be starting my first year of teaching here at Woodfin Elementary! I graduated in June 2025 with a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Appalachian State University—go Mountaineers!
I was born and raised in Buncombe County Schools and am proud to be a 2020 graduate of Clyde A. Erwin High School. Returning to serve the community that helped shape me is incredibly special.
In November 2025, I married my wonderful husband, Austin, and we share our home with our sweet golden retriever, Boone.
I am beyond excited to be part of the Wolverine family and can’t wait to learn and grow alongside my students this year!

And that's a wrap on an amazing school year! Students got to "pie" two teachers for making and exceeding academic growth. Thanks to Mr. Levenson and Mr. SH for being such sports 🥧🍰As our final day came to a close, all of the WES staff went out to wave goodbye to our students 💜We will miss everyone and wish everyone a Happy Summer 🌞🌞🌞✨

REMINDER: Tuesday June 10, 2025 is the last day of the 24-25 school year for BCS students. It will be a 2-hour early dismissal day. Wishing all of our families a great summer break!

What an amazing last full week of school we had last week! First, we had a fantastic guest author, Susan Zapfe. She read her adorable book, The Grumpy Biscuit, and gave each student a biscuit and a book 📕 ♥️ Then, we had Books on Break where each student got to choose 10 books to take home with them and to add to their home library 📚 We are so beyond lucky to have so much amazing community support at Woodfin Elementary 🤩 Have a fantastic summer 🌞#WeAreErwin #BCSfamily

Our WES talent show was a huge success! This morning, our gym was filled with energy, laughter, and nonstop entertainment 🎤✨ An amazing array of students and staff performers wowed the crowd with singing, dancing, comedy, piano playing, and more 🤩 Thank you to everyone who came out to support our talented students and staff! And THANK YOU to Mr. Regling for coordinating this event! #bcsfamily #WeAreErwin

Today, third and fourth graders went on a field trip to see the Biltmore House and the King Tut exhibit. Students had a fantastic day exploring and learning about both ancient and more recent history. A huge thank you to the donors who made this trip possible 💜 As always, our students did a great job representing Woodfin Elementary. Only a few days left to go 🌞

What a sun-sational 🌞 way to wrap up the 2024/2025 school year! Our students laughed, raced, and splashed their way through field day. It was a celebration of hard work, friendship, community, and the start of a well earned summer break. 🌻
A big THANK YOU to Mrs. West, our fantastic PE teacher for organizing such a well thought out event! And THANK YOU to all the teachers, staff, and volunteers who made this day unforgettable ♥️💜

Order in the Court...of Third Grade ⚖️
Today, our third graders became lawyers, witnesses, and jurors in a mock trial led by one of our awesome parents, Mr. Holloway! The courtroom drama? 🎭
Mr. Plankton stood accused of stealing the secret Krabby Patty recipe from Mr. Krabs 🦀!
Our young legal experts questioned the witness and presented evidence, and debated the facts in front of the jury. It was a hilarious and educational way to learn about justice, fairness, and public speaking.
Thank you, Mr. Holloway, for bringing courtroom excitement to our classrooms!

Today, Woodfin students and staff came together for a pep rally to support our 3rd and 4th graders. Students have worked so hard and tomorrow they will be taking their End of Grade tests to show how much they have grown academically this year. We are so proud of all of our students 🤩Let's finish strong! 💪 #weareerwin #BCSfamily
