Cheers and enthusiasm erupted from R.L. Dalton stadium, only this time it wasn’t a powerful football play that had everyone excited.
Two marketing classes from A.C. Reynolds High School (ACRHS) went head to head in a teamwork battle unlike anything they’ve seen before. High schoolers banded together in two teams filled with high-energy in hopes of being the best class on the football field, with challenges involving golf balls and eggs. Sports and Events Marketing teacher, Chandler Greer looks forward to activities such as this that unite students.
“Team building is an important skill to learn in high school, because teamwork and collaboration is integrated in nearly every job you do,” he said. “A team will always take you further than you can take yourself.”
Mr. Greer expressed how marketing along with career and technical education (CTE) requires the need for a team like environment. Plus doing something that’s outside the box of teaching helps him connect more with students.
“Activities such as the team building exercises allow me to see a different side of a student,” Mr. Greer said. “The competitive side of a student doesn’t always appear in a classroom setting, so it is always great to see. I feel that opportunities such as this prepare students for life after graduation.”
This team building exercise emphasized how important effective teamwork is both inside and outside of the classroom.
