At the Adaptive Cornhole Tournament, the target was a day of smiles, and everyone hit the mark.
Buncombe County Schools hosted the event at A.C. Reynolds High School, with teams from Reynolds joined by students from the Progressive Education Program, Erwin, Hendersonville, North Henderson, and Tuscola high schools.
Exceptional Children’s teachers from each school, along with players and coaches from Reynolds’ basketball teams, helped facilitate the games and made the day special for everyone.
“The best part about being here is seeing the players’ faces when they make a good shot,” said senior Zach Dickey, who was handing out bean bags to competitors as they made their way to the front of the line. “I love celebrating and giving them high fives.”
Coaches enjoyed watching their players in action.
“I love seeing them practice patience and empathy,” said men’s coach Ryan Stevens. “This is a great day.”
Tuscola High School finished the tournament in the top spot. Congratulations to all the players!
